Heather Weathers and Jason Chaffin are constant creators. A long time artist couple, their shared space and shared ideas result in an overlap and interplay of influence, evident in their ever evolving body of artwork. It is this mutual commitment to each other and the creative process, that fuels the “Absurd Ritual” and its pipeline of unusual objects, birthed into the halls of Farrington Smith Gallery. Weather we are talking about Heather’s “Gang” of ceramic rabbit cohorts, populating the walls, or Jason’s hydrocal critique of the cybertruck, “The Edsel of the Avaricious”, their absurd rituals result in a plethora of absurdly engaging objects. And while these artworks have an immediate appeal in their object quality, the concepts and back storys are like an onion of meaning.
